The Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College, Kozhikode was established in the year 1965 and moved to the Institute of Maternal and Child Health in the year 1975. The department is one of the largest facilities devoted to the care of sick children in this part of the world and in fact, the Institute conducts about sixteen to eighteen thousand deliveries annually.
